Allasandra Valdez is a plant physiological ecologist deeply committed to unraveling the intricate web of plant characteristics and how they shape their interactions with the surrounding environment, particularly in the face of a rapidly changing climate. Having embarked on her academic journey, Allasandra obtained her bachelor's degree in plant science from Juniata College in Pennsylvania in 2021, where she honed her foundational knowledge and ignited her profound interest in the botanical world. She then furthered her education by pursuing a master's degree in Natural Resource Ecology and Management at Oklahoma State University, which she completed in June of 2023.
Currently, as a dedicated PhD student at Cornell University, Allasandra finds herself at the forefront of cutting-edge research within the esteemed Ecology and Evolutionary Biology department. Allasandra wants to use this podcast to help those who are curious about plants find their botanical way and develop a deep love for the near-magical world of plants.
